The bedroom was on the second floor , smaller than some others offered but perfect and quiet looking out over the courtyard which suited us better as not on the main road though they seemed lovely too ! The room was was very clean , fresh and colourful in the rooms with tasteful furnishings and well appointed , a very comfy large kingsize bed , good sized bathroom with a lovely deep bath and strong shower , warm once I got the heating sorted out in the room and the fabulous fire was lit on request once the weather turned foul with torrential rain , which we much appreciated as we needed the fire downstairs for extra warmth which made all the difference to the comfortable and interesting lounge where we enjoyed playing chess in front of the log fire until the early hours on our last night . The staff in all areas were very friendly and helpful . We had an excellent breakfast range and very kind , polite and thoughtful staff . Very helpful and accommodating of our dog too . He loved his doggie treats and he lay in front of the fire after all the excitement of different places we stayed . This was our last two nights . We look forward to staying here again ! We loved it there . We had not had a break in six years so we luckily chose well . The location is close to small shops , a decent Coop , arty and other quirky shops and boutiques for browsing or shopping but not cheap ! Blenheim Palace was the highlight for us and within walking distance about ten minutes or a short drive or bus trip from the hotel . The bus is right outside ! Makes it easy to get back to Oxford or other surrounding towns or villages . Lots of lovely restaurants and pubs nearby to suit all tastes . We would recommend The Woodstock Arms for food , coziness and good service and a great menu … we stayed their comfortably too inbetween for two nights as well as The Feathers Hotel for the first two nights which was delightful and discrete and very comfortable too .

The location is very good as you are situated right in the small town of Woodstock. Marlborough Arms has a small free car park and we were very lucky and found a space to park. Blenhiem Palace is a short walk away. We recieved a very warm welcome as we arrived early. There was a wonderful Christmas tree and a roaring log fire as you entered the reception area. The whole atmosphere at The Marlborough Arms is one of warmth, relaxation and friendliness. Reading the history of the building and looking at one of the marble fire places with the carved names and dates is very interesting.

Proper old coaching inn. We loved lounging around in the downstairs room with comfy chairs, warm fire and good coffee. Also the tipsy floor in our room was quite fun. We were by the road but the sound insulation worked well (not if you open the window!). The breakfast is excellent and the staff lovely. Woodstock is very attractive (good pubs and restaurants- Marlborough Arms doesn’t do food or draft beer) and Blenheim a stone’s throw. Easy to get the bus into centre of Oxford.

The Marlborough Arms was in the perfect central location. It was a beautiful hotel with an amazing feel and one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in. The rooms were so spacious and extremely comfortable and clean. The staff were so polite and so helpful. Lastly the breakfast was delicious. I’ve never left a review on a hotel before but this hotel was definitely worthy of this review and I would definitely recommend and would book this hotel again. Many thanks Steve

The room was very pleasant and comfortable. There was a very attractive en-suite, all very clean and well kept. The breakfasts were super, an excellent buffet selection and a good menu of cooked dishes. Breakfast is taken in a beautiful room at the rear of the hotel, very calm and peaceful, just a delight! The staff at the Marlborough are very friendly and engaging, also very helpful with suggestions of where to eat, directions etc.
